Overcoming Loneliness

If you do one thing today I urge you to connect meaningfully with someone.

Even with #socialdistancing make a connection. Talk to your neighbour over the fence. Reach out by phone. FaceTime. Whatever it looks like combat loneliness with purpose because your health - and the health of others - literally depends on it.

The @americanpsychologicalassoc has published many papers on this topic and how it’s impact to our immune system, mental health, inflammation and long term health indicators are undeniably negatively impacted (potentially as seriously as obesity and smoking) when we are faced with loneliness.

So during this pandemic let’s not forget the mental health epidemic that we have been, and are, facing.

Now is the time, more than ever, to help yourself and others not just survive but thrive. And yes, it can be done at one meter apart.
